As you might know now, my mini recipe series contains just random creations I came across while filling my empty stomach here and there. So honestly no story behind these recipes, but the end results taste like heaven. So here we go, this is by far a very food smoothie, utilizing Summer produce (strawberries)

Servings: 2
Preparation time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled
  • 1 cup Ultimate Aloe with Pomegranate juice
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 pinch of chili salt
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Process:

  • Put everything in a blender and blend really really well so the chia seeds are all ground up
  • Pour in 2 cups and chill for 30 mins, or just jug it down as is

Note:

  • You can actually freeze the strawberries so that you have a cold smoothie immediately
  • This smoothie is packed full with vitamins and minerals. I used the chia seeds from The Chia Co., which is sourced organically.
  • Also, I used Ultimate Aloe juice for this recipe. This is the best aloe product out there in the market, with 150% concentrate aloe vera extract from whole leaf process (so no bullshit sugar content). The price is totally justified by the quality. Plus, the pomegranate flavor actually contains pure pomegranate juice so it is another source of antioxidant. Use code 10OffMA for 10% off if you want to try it out 🙂
  • I used maple syrup instead of honey or sugar since maple syrup is low GI food (“cool” food in Asian food concept), which is great to cool down the body
  • The chili salt provides fun taste and actually sweetens the strawberries, in tiny amount though (it’s not a savory dish!)
